Out of the 53 teachers in the province of Albay who applied for the Search for
Outstanding Teachers, Mrs. Brenly B. Mendoza and Mr. Cristobal Sayago emerged
as two of the Ten Outstanding Teachers (TOT) in Albay.  They were awarded at
Albay Astrodome last December 18, 2008.  Other teachers from LNHS who made it to
the final stage of the search were Mrs. Ma. Leilani R. Lorico and Mr. Carlo Magno P.
Pamorada.
The Provincial Government of Albay headed by Gov. Joey S. Salceda through
Project EQUAL which stands for Education Quality for Albayanos sponsored this first
ever Search for Outstanding Teachers in the province. The Bicol University headed
by the President,  Dr. Faye Lea Patria M. Lauraya facilitated  the Search for Ten
Outstanding Teachers.  The Search for the TOT of Albay celebrates the humble
heroism of the classroom teacher by recognizing the best teachers of the province.
This search exemplifies the provincial government's commitment to education and its
development.  This annual search selects ten elementary and secondary teachers
who exemplify the best teaching profession.
Of the 36 who qualified to the first phase, 5 were teachers from LNHS namely,
Mrs. Brenly B. Mendoza, Mr. Carlo Magno P. Pamorada, Mrs. Ma. Leilani R. Lorico,
