Building Effective Schools Today via Learners' Improvement and Growth in Achievements and Outcomes
Ms. Annie bids goodbye to LNHS

It seemed like only yesterday when Ligao National High School welcomed Miss
Annie Huang, a Peace Corps Volunteer from the United States of America.  She
came in August 2007 full of enthusiasm and desire to help the teachers and students
in any way she can along English Proficiency.
Miss Annie bade goodbye to Ligao National High School in a short program that
was prepared by the Supreme Student Government (SSG) last June 29, 2009.
During the program the LNHS Rondalla serenaded her and the class of III-ESJ 1 sang
a song for her.  Jeffrey De Lumen, a former student of LNHS whom she
recommended to the Peace Corps Scholarship Program and got accepted, also gave
a short speech expressing his gratitude to her.  Mrs. Carmelita A. Sinson, the school
principal, thanked her for sharing her time, talent and effort to LNHS.  She also
thanked Ms. Annie for helping put up the Audio-Visual Reading Center, for providing
the teachers with data base resources and for helping organize the school records of
all the students through a school data base.
In her response, Ms. Annie also thanked everybody for welcoming her in the
school and for being receptive to all the ideas that she introduced.  She said that she
will never forget Ligao National High School.
In the afternoon, the III-ESJ1 class with the English teachers with whom she
worked closely with, gave her another Farewell Program at the AVR Center.  The
students of III-ESJ 1 had a special bond with Ms. Annie because in her first year as a
PCV in the school she was their English teacher with Mrs. Emily J. Ruivivar, her
counterpart.  She said that she was amazed at the way the students have developed
their self-confidence and their proficiency in English.
Ms. Annie Huang will go back  to the US in July.  In her return there she will be
pursuing a course in Medicine.  She hopes to help people in the third world countries
when she becomes a doctor someday.  She promised to return to the Ligao to visit in
the future.
Bon Voyage, Miss Annie. You will be missed.
