Our Battlecry: BEST in LIGAO
Building Effective Schools Today via Learners' Improvement and Growth in Achievements and Outcomes
Inspired by the success of Gawad Kalinga Project of the Couples for the
Christ, LPG Teachers’ Homes is proposed to enhance the living conditions of the
most challenged government workers, the teachers.
Hon. Linda P. Gonzalez, Ligao City Mayor will invest substantially in this proposed
project by developing the one-half hectare lot, which will be donated by the family of
Mrs. Zenaida P. Cabrera, Principal of Ligao West Central Elementary School
‘The Mayor’s support once again shows how concerned she is with uplifting the
plight of the educators’, said the Dr. Diosdado M. San Antonio, Schools Division
Superintendent. He also added, ‘the family of Mrs. Cabrera deserves to be
commended for this gesture of generosity’.
With Ligao City Division’s target to move towards excellence, Dr. San Antonio
believes it is difficult for someone to excel in carrying out his/her tasks effectively if
there are basic survival needs that are unmet.
In Ligao City, Dr. San Antonio learned that a substantial number of DepED
employees are homeless. This unfortunate situation needs the attention of the
leaders of the society in order to redeem the “old glory” of the teaching profession,
thus he proposes this project.
DepED employees who do not own their residential houses or those living
in places outside Ligao City shall be given the opportunity as beneficiaries of this
project. PAG-IBIG provided by the beneficiaries through the bayanihan scheme and
shall be supported technically by the designated Division Project Engineer Danny
The project hopes to respond to the challenge of establishing and
maintaining a culture of excellence in the public schools through a highly motivated
corps of DepED- Ligao City personnel, reigniting the “bayanihan” spirit,
strengthening linkages among government and non-government organizations and
enabling the homeless DepED to own their homes.
